Rules of the arena
How Versus works, how verdicts are decided, and what this site is (and is not).
Standard rules
- Both fighters at their best canon form.
- No preparation, no outside help, neutral arena.
- Win by knockout, surrender or the other fighter being unable to continue.
- Exceptions, such as a Gauntlet or a weapon, are stated at the start of each story.
How the verdict works
Every story is followed by a verdict box: who wins, the three factors that decided it, and how the loser could win a rematch. Tiers keep matchups honest; when two fighters are far apart in power we label the fight a mismatch.
Keeping it fair and fun
Both fighters get their moment. Nobody is humiliated, the violence stays at a PG-13 level, and every result is argued from what the characters have actually done in their own stories.

What is Versus?
Versus is a collection of one-page fight stories between fictional characters from different universes who would never meet in their own stories, such as Yujiro Hanma vs Thragg or Baki vs Spider-Man. Each story ends with a clear verdict and the reasons behind it.
How do you decide who wins?
We compare what each character has actually shown in their own stories: strength, speed, durability, skill, experience and special abilities. The story dramatises the most likely outcome under our standard rules, and the verdict box explains the deciding factors and how a rematch could go differently.
What are the standard rules?
Both fighters are at their best canon form, with no preparation time and no outside help, in a neutral arena. The fight ends by knockout, surrender or one fighter being unable to continue. Any exceptions are stated at the start of the story.
Is this official?
No. Versus is unofficial fan fiction. The characters belong to their creators and rights holders, and we use no official art, logos, screenshots or quoted text. Rights holders can ask for removal and we will act promptly.
Can I suggest a fight?
