The Arena

A villain’s portal dragged Izuku Midoriya and Peter Parker into the same city at the same moment, and the villain’s last trick was to convince each of them that the other was his accomplice. They met on a rooftop at sunset, both breathing hard from the chase, both sure they had found the bad guy.

Deku analysed the stranger instantly, muttering under his breath: wall-crawling, web-shooters, enhanced agility, probably a mutation quirk. Spider-Man watched the green-suited kid with lightning crackling around his body and said, “Okay, nobody told me the bad guy would be twelve.”

Round One

Spider-Man was faster at first. His spider-sense warned him of every punch Deku threw, and he flipped, swung and webbed his way around the young hero, landing kicks and webbing Deku’s legs to the roof. He kept up a running stream of jokes the whole time.

Deku broke free with a burst of One For All and adapted, as he always does, by thinking. He noticed that Spider-Man dodged before he moved, that something warned him. So Deku stopped attacking the man and started attacking the space around him, using Blackwhip to create a web of energy that Spider-Man could not entirely avoid.

The Turn

For a few exchanges they were evenly matched, two young heroes at the edge of their abilities, neither willing to give up. Spider-Man’s strength surprised Deku; he had never fought anyone that agile and that strong. Deku’s power surprised Peter; every punch he threw cracked the rooftop and split the air.

Then both of them felt it at the same moment: a warning, a danger sense, Deku’s inherited quirk and Peter’s spider-sense firing together. The real villain was standing on the next rooftop, watching.

The Finish

They had one last exchange before the villain moved, and it settled things. Peter, distracted by the second warning, was half a step slow. Deku, who had trained his danger sense for exactly this, was not. He caught Spider-Man’s wrist, used Float to lift them both and slammed him into the rooftop with a controlled Delaware Smash that left Peter stunned and webbed in his own lines.

Deku helped him up immediately, apologising so many times that Peter started laughing. “It’s fine, it’s fine. Nice moves, kid.” Then the two of them turned toward the villain on the next rooftop, who suddenly looked very worried.

They took him down in under a minute. Afterwards, sitting on a ledge with the sun setting behind them, Deku asked Peter seventeen questions about his web fluid. Peter answered all of them.

The verdict

Izuku Midoriya wins

Spider-Man is more agile and his spider-sense makes him hard to hit, but Deku has far more raw power, a growing toolkit of inherited quirks and his own danger sense, and he adapts faster than Peter can keep up with.

  • Raw powerOne For All at high output dwarfs Spider-Man’s strength.
  • Versatile quirksBlackwhip, Float and Danger Sense give Deku answers to everything.
  • AnalysisDeku reads Spider-Man’s patterns and adapts mid-fight.

How the rematch could go differently: An early Deku, still breaking his bones with every punch, would be outmatched by Spider-Man’s experience and agility.
