The Arena
Venom was hunting in a strange city, drawn by a hunger stronger than anything he had felt before. Something here smelled of power, ancient and rotten, and the symbiote wanted it. He followed the scent to a ruined shrine in Shibuya, where a man with four eyes and markings on his face sat on a broken altar, eating something best not described.
Sukuna looked up, saw the black, toothy creature, and laughed. “What an odd little curse. Did you come here to die?” Venom grinned, his tongue lolling. “We came here to eat.”
Round One
Venom attacked with all the ferocity of the symbiote, his body shifting into claws, spikes and whips. He was stronger than Sukuna had expected, and one of his tendrils struck the King of Curses across the face, drawing blood.
Sukuna wiped the blood away and smiled. “Interesting.” Then he flicked a finger. Dismantle: an invisible slash that cut through Venom’s body like paper, severing one of his arms. The symbiote regrew it instantly. Sukuna’s eyes lit up with delight. He had found a toy that would not break.
What followed was a brawl through the ruined shrine, the symbiote throwing pillars and statues, Sukuna cutting them out of the air before they reached him. Venom lunged and bit down on Sukuna’s shoulder. Sukuna laughed, tore him off, and hurled him through a stone gate.
The Turn
Venom kept coming, regenerating every wound, and landed several heavy blows that cracked the stone around Sukuna. Eddie Brock’s voice and the symbiote’s snarl blended together into one hungry roar. For a moment, the King of Curses was on the defensive.
Sukuna grew bored of the game. He made a hand sign and expanded his Domain: Malevolent Shrine. A colossal shrine rose behind him, and invisible slashes filled the space around it, Dismantle and Cleave cutting everything in the domain over and over, thousands of times a second.
Inside the domain there was no escape and no defence. Every surface, every breath of air, every inch of the shrine became a blade. Venom tried to shield Eddie with layers of black mass, and the slashes peeled them away like the skins of an onion.
The Finish
Venom tried to regenerate, but the slashes came faster than any healing could keep up with. The symbiote was cut apart again and again, its body shredded into ribbons that could not reform in time.
Then Sukuna used his fire, a flame that set the shredded symbiote alight. Venom’s greatest weaknesses are fire and sound, and Sukuna had found one of them without even trying. The symbiote shrieked and fled back inside Eddie Brock, leaving him kneeling on the stone, exhausted and shaking.
Sukuna crouched in front of him, grinning. “You were fun. Come back when you have grown a little.” He let Eddie go, which was the most unsettling part of all. Eddie ran, and the symbiote did not argue.
The verdict
Ryomen Sukuna wins
Venom’s regeneration makes him a tough opponent, but Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine cuts faster than any healing can keep up with, and his fire attacks exploit one of the symbiote’s key weaknesses.
- Malevolent ShrineA domain of endless slashes that overwhelms regeneration.
- FireSukuna’s flames attack the symbiote’s weakness.
- Power scaleSukuna is a city-level threat; Venom is a street-to-superhuman brawler.
How the rematch could go differently: A Venom bonded with a stronger host, or using sonic resistance and stealth, could survive long enough to land a desperate counterattack.
