The Arena

Vegeta had heard of a god in another universe who claimed to be the mightiest warrior of his realm, and he took it as a personal insult. He found Thor on a barren plain under a sky full of thunderheads, hammer in hand, calmly watching the storm he had called.

Vegeta crossed his arms. “So you are the God of Thunder. You look like an oversized blond fool with a toy.” Thor laughed, a big booming laugh. “And you, little prince, look like a man who has never once been told no. Shall we fix that?”

Round One

Vegeta went straight to Super Saiyan Blue and blasted Thor with a Galick Gun that would have erased a planet. Thor swung Mjolnir and met it head-on, the hammer splitting the beam in two, lightning crackling down his arm. The plain behind him exploded.

They fought like two storms colliding. Vegeta was faster, his strikes precise and devastating. Thor was a god of war, every swing of Mjolnir backed by the thunder itself. Vegeta landed a flurry of punches that broke Thor’s armor. Thor answered with a hammer blow that drove Vegeta through the planet’s crust.

The Turn

Vegeta reached for Ultra Ego, the state that grows stronger with every hit he takes, and it worked. Each blow Thor landed made him more powerful, and he began to drive the God of Thunder back across the plain.

Thor understood the trick quickly; he has fought shapeshifters, tricksters and his own brother. So he stopped hitting Vegeta with many small blows and gathered the entire storm into Mjolnir, every bolt of lightning on the planet channelled into a single, overwhelming strike. God Blast.

The Finish

Vegeta saw it coming and refused to dodge. Pride is the Saiyan way. He met the blast with a Final Flash at full power, and the two attacks collided in a light so bright it could be seen from neighbouring stars.

The God Blast tore through the Final Flash and struck Vegeta with the fury of the entire storm. When the light faded, the Prince of all Saiyans lay at the bottom of a smoking crater, his armor shattered, his Ultra Ego form fading.

Thor landed beside him and held out a hand. Vegeta slapped it away and climbed out by himself, swaying. “This is not over,” he snarled. Thor grinned. “I hope not. That was the best fight I have had in a century. Come, little prince. Let us drink to it.” Vegeta, to his own surprise, went.

The verdict

Thor wins

Vegeta’s speed and Ultra Ego make this extremely close, but Thor is a god with millennia of combat experience, and his ability to channel an entire storm into one blow overwhelms Ultra Ego’s slow build.

  • God BlastThor concentrates a planet’s storm into a single overwhelming strike.
  • ExperienceThor has fought cosmic beings for thousands of years.
  • DurabilityThor withstands Vegeta’s planet-busting attacks.

How the rematch could go differently: If Vegeta built up Ultra Ego slowly and never fed Thor an opening for a God Blast, his growing power could overwhelm the God of Thunder.

Who do you think wins?

Who would win in a fight between Vegeta and Thor?

Thor wins. Vegeta’s speed and Ultra Ego make this extremely close, but Thor is a god with millennia of combat experience, and his ability to channel an entire storm into one blow overwhelms Ultra Ego’s slow build.
